Our people deserve human rights!

The Basqorttar should be free to decide their future, preserve our identity, and participate fully in society without fear or discrimination. Protecting our rights strengthens the universal promise that all people are equal.

Annual activity report of Basqort ombudsperson

In the Republic of Bashkortostan, the trend toward systematically restricting fundamental human rights and freedoms persists and intensifies. These violations most acutely affect representatives of the indigenous Bashkir people, activists of national movements, environmentalists, and independent journalists.
